OK the run-down of this song is that Ludacris and the love interest used to be an item but then when the love interest asked Ludacris if he was attracted to who she was at all he replied "no sorry". Hence hurting the love interest. Justin has always been the love interest's best friend and even though theres no chemistry between them he has always been there for her and knows what she deserves.
this remake is based on some actaul events but has fiction entwined with it to make it more interesting.
